What does "Hytropy: Reverse Disaster" mean?
It is the result from two greek roots, "hy" meaning "grow" and "tropy" meaning "change". So, together, it means "to grow through change". Our leadership felt as though this was an appropriate name for a disaster company, because we believe that experiencing a disaster is just a learning experience, not something that should be feared or dreaded. We create disaster programs that help company not to recover, but to actually reverse the effects of a disaster, so that they are stronger after the experience than ever before!
What is does your "HY" logo mean?
It is an ambigram, in that it can be read upside-down as well as right-side up. It signifies our strategy for our clients, as well as our approach to disaster planning, that no matter what disaster, emergency, or crisis might turn a company's world "upside-down", they are always "right-side up".
How is Hytropy different from other disaster firms?
Besides being the only one devoted specifically to small business, Hytropy actually assists clients in building and maintaining a complete disaster preparedness program, from preparing disaster plans to training and testing. Our goal is for clients to become resilient, which means that they become almost completely independent during a disaster. Essentially, the company responds at the first sign of trouble, or before they know the trouble exists!
What kind of emergencies/disasters does Hytropy assist small business in preparing for?
Hytropy doesn't just assist during the major emergencies, but the small ones as well, because we know these can be just as devestating. Power outages, employee violence, computer viruses, sewer backups, anything that can harm a small business' infrastructure, we assist in preparing them for it, and we help walk them through responding to it! Until the opening of Hytropy in August 2009, there was not a company that ever that provided this service.
This Complete Disaster Program is "Certified". What does that mean?
EVERY plan we produce is reviewed by a Certified Business Continuity Planner™ (CBCP), and an Advanced Level Emergency Manager (ALEM). This is to ensure that our clients receive only services of the highest calibre for preparing for and responding to a disaster.
The Disaster Recovery Institute certifies a few individuals globally as a CBCP. It is an elite certification with rigorous requirements. Those who are eligible have years of experience, top notch education, and have made contributions to the profession through teaching and publishing. To receive this kind of quality costs tens of thousands of dollars per plan with other companies. Until the opening of Hytropy, there was not an organization that did this affordably for business.
Why don't you charge more for the Break Glass in Emergency Products?
Our company has never believed in taking advantage of people or companies during a disaster. While most companies do charge thousands of dollars, we want to give companies the benefit of disaster assistance without having to spend a lot of money. Once the company has been though a disaster, it will then be in a stronger position to purchase a long-term sustainable plan. That is our hope.
